Give Your Child The "Million Word Advantage"

Parents who read aloud to their children are putting them on the fast track to literacy.

Kids who are read one short book per day enter kindergarten hearing 290,000 more words than kids whose parents didn’t read to them. If they’re read five per day, they’re up 1.4 million words, per a new study in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.

Those bedtime stories just got a lot more meaningful. Click here to read the complete story on Mental Floss.
